witnessing an unprecedented displacement crisis. The number of people forced to flee conflict, violence, human rights abuses and persecution has surpassed the 100 million mark for the first time. The 100 million figure represents more than 1%* of the world\u2019s population and includes refugees and asylum seekers, as well as internally displaced persons (IDPs), driven by new waves of violence or protracted conflicts in countries such as Ukraine, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Yemen and Syria. Forced displacement requires not only a humanitarian response, but also a sustainable and inclusive response. The SHE Institute reinforces fundamental human rights in dignity.
